A new method of attaching the spider and cone to the voice coil ensures rigidity throughout the motor structure and increases the subwoofer's accuracy. MORE RIGID DUST CAP Talc, a common mineral used in products such as baby powder and paint, has been found to have incredible damping properties while being less dense than the traditional Mica filler used in dust caps. By adding a calculated amount of talc to the mica polypropylene in the dust cap, we increased the cap's vibration absorption while lowering its density. The lighter dust cap contributes to a faster attack and a more accurate reproduction of low frequencies. NEW POWER RATING All four R-Series subwoofers are rated at 750W RMS. They perfectly match the PDR-M65 Mono Power Density Amplifier, creating an efficient system. Alpine SWT-10S2 1000W Peak 10" SWT Series Single 2-ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer Right size, Right sound. Here's a big bass breakthrough for truck lovers. Alpine engineered their SWT-10S2 10" subwoofer to go behind your seat and sound especially good in the limited space of a truck cab. This deep-sounding, high-performance sub works well in shallow enclosures that'll fit behind or under the seat in your truck. A "high amplitude" surround allows more cone travel than a regular sub, so the SWT-10S2 can push more air and play louder. Airflow-insured subs get hot as they play, and the heat usually gets vented away via a port in the back of the sub's pole piece. Alpine recessed the pole port and added cooling air vents on the sides of the frame, allowing you to use an enclosure with an inside clearance of as little as 4-3/16" without blocking critical airflow. An SWT-10S4 will work well in a ported or sealed box so you can get your favorite bass tone, boomy or tight. The power takes for top performance, and you'll want to pick an amplifier that delivers between 300 and 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms. This single voice coil, the 4-ohm sub, will draw the maximum output power from a subwoofer amplifier when used along with a second SWT-10S2 in a system.
